Bill McCoy
Wow, that was a big one! Doing fine thankfully. They had some major rockfall at Mt Whitney. Fortunately nobody was hurt. Here’s a photo someone took.
Beeper Bob
Glad to see see you had no problems . Lot going on up there Cerro Gordo had a fire that destroyed some of the historic town buildings they lost power from a lightning strike and no one can get up there the road washed out. Maybe the storm exposed some gold areas in Mazourka. Good luck to you!
Bill McCoy
That was a real big loss up in Cerro Gordo. They lost the American Hotel and adjacent buildings to fire. I’ll try to get soon to see if I can find anything.
paradiceau
Hi Bill, Glad you are ok, I was up at Cerro Gordo a year or so back and the new owners had big plans. The older fellow who has been looking after the site for years is a hard rock miner and his knowledge of the mines in the area and history are great. The Hotel and other buildings were in pretty fine condition and I am saddened to hear they were lost. Jeff G.
